TRAI Launches Nationwide Logo Design Competition for India’s Digital Connectivity Rating Framework

In an innovative move to engage citizens in shaping India’s digital future, the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has announced a nationwide competition for the design of the official logo of the Digital Connectivity Rating (DCR) Framework. The initiative invites creative individuals aged 15 years and above to design a logo that visually represents India’s growing emphasis on seamless, high-quality digital connectivity across buildings and public infrastructure.

The DCR Logo Design Competition aims to foster public participation, creativity, and awareness around India’s first rating system for digital connectivity readiness. The selected logo will serve as the official emblem of the DCR framework — appearing on certifications, communication materials, outreach campaigns, and stakeholder platforms associated with the initiative.

About the Digital Connectivity Rating Framework

Launched under the Rating of Properties for Digital Connectivity Regulations, 2024, the DCR framework is a pioneering step toward assessing how well-equipped buildings and public spaces are to support robust digital networks. It evaluates parameters such as mobile coverage, broadband readiness, and service performance, helping developers, property managers, and residents make informed decisions about digital infrastructure.

Through the framework, Digital Connectivity Rating Agencies (DCRAs) registered with TRAI will assess and certify buildings for their level of digital connectivity. This ensures transparency, standardisation, and accountability, bringing digital infrastructure to the forefront of property and urban development.

The DCR initiative reflects TRAI’s vision of digital connectivity as a core public utility — essential for enabling smart cities, efficient workplaces, and inclusive growth across urban and rural India.

Evaluation and Rewards

Entries will be judged on originality, inclusivity, and relevance to DCR’s values — trust, readiness, and accessibility. Designs should visually capture India’s diverse digital landscape, from residential and commercial buildings to transport hubs and public spaces. Technical quality, scalability, and balanced use of typography and colour will also be key evaluation criteria.

  • 🥇 First Prize: ₹10,000 + Certificate of Recognition
  • 🥈 Second Prize: ₹5,000 + Certificate of Recognition

The winning logo will become the official symbol of the DCR framework and will be featured across TRAI’s digital and print outreach campaigns, giving designers national recognition for their contribution to India’s digital transformation.

Empowering Citizens in India’s Digital Journey

This initiative reflects TRAI’s broader mission to promote awareness of digital infrastructure as a foundational element of modern living. By involving the public in designing the DCR’s visual identity, TRAI underscores the importance of inclusivity and citizen engagement in shaping India’s digital future.

From homes and offices to malls, hospitals, and highways — the DCR framework represents a shared vision of universal connectivity and quality digital access.
