The National Medical Commission (NMC), through its Post Graduate Medical Education Board (PGMEB), has issued an urgent public notice on October 28, 2025, calling on all students admitted to Postgraduate Super Specialty (DM/MCh) courses for the Academic Year 2024-25 to immediately verify their details online. This verification step is crucial as the Board has found that some medical colleges failed to upload complete student information by the mandated deadline.
The NMC’s notice confirms that despite repeated circulars and a stipulated deadline of October 15, 2025, for uploading data, only 3,547 students have been successfully reported as admitted for the Academic Year 2024-25, and their details are currently visible on the official NMC portal. The PGMEB’s action underscores the commitment to ensuring all admissions adhere to the regulations and procedures outlined in the Postgraduate Medical Education Regulation, 2023.
Verification Directive for Students
All students who secured admission to Postgraduate Super Specialty Courses for the 2024-25 academic year must perform an immediate check:
- Students are urgently requested to verify that their names appear in the uploaded list available on the official NMC website.
- Any student whose name is not reflected in the uploaded list is advised to immediately consult the concerned Directorate of Medical Education or the designated Counselling Authority for resolution.
Action for Medical Institutions
The NMC has directed all medical colleges and institutions to take note of the public notice for further necessary action. The list of students currently reported is significantly lower than expected, reflecting a compliance gap among institutions.
The NMC has circulated the notice to the Secretaries of Medical Education and the Directorate of Medical Education in all States and Union Territories for compliance and further action.
The data uploaded through the student admission portal will be the only official source used by the NMC for monitoring admissions.
