Meghalaya Power Distribution Corporation Limited Extends One-Time Settlement Scheme 2025–26

The Meghalaya Power Distribution Corporation Limited (MePDCL) has officially announced an extension of its One-Time Settlement (OTS) Scheme 2025–26 up to 31 December 2025. The notification was issued by the Office of the Director (Distribution), MePDCL, Shillong, on 28 November 2025 via order No. MePDCL/D/2025-26/34.

The extension aims to give consumers additional time to clear their long-pending electricity dues under the same terms and eligibility conditions earlier outlined in Notification No. MePDCL D (D)/T-499(Pt-I)/2025-26/27, dated 15 September 2025.

Purpose of the OTS Scheme

The One-Time Settlement Scheme is designed to:

  • Help consumers settle overdue electricity bills at reduced financial burden.
  • Provide relief through waivers and concessions as per the previously issued guidelines.
  • Improve revenue recovery for MePDCL while supporting consumers facing financial constraints.

  • No Change in Eligibility: Consumers must meet the same criteria specified in the original September 2025 notification.
