A Change in Holiday Schedule: Chhattisgarh Government’s Amendment for Ram Navami

The Chhattisgarh Government, through its General Administration Department, has on 15th April, 2024 issued a notification that brings about a change in the holiday schedule for the year 2024. This change pertains to the public holiday declared on the occasion of the “Ram Navami” festival.

It announces a partial amendment to a previous notification, of declaration of Public or general or optional holidays declared by the government for the year 2024, dated 11th October, 2023. The amendment changes the date of the previously declared general holiday for the “Ram Navami” festival. Instead of Wednesday, April 17, 2024, the new date for the public holiday is now yet to be announced.

This change implies that all offices and institutions under the jurisdiction of the Chhattisgarh Government will observe the new date as a public holiday. This includes government offices, educational institutions, and other public establishments.
