Andhra Pradesh Labour Department has proposed amendments to the Andhra Pradesh Contract Labour (Regulation and Abolition) Rules, 1970 by a notification dated 14th December, 2018. The Department has invited objections/suggestions on the draft amendment till 14thJanuary, 2019.
The draft rule proposes amendment in Rule 80 i.e. Registers and Records and Collection of Statistics. As per the amended rules, all registers and other records will have to be maintained electronically. Maintenance of records in physical form for 3 years will no longer be required. The registers and records will be made accessible to the inspector whenever required and there will be no physical inspection.
