The Assam Pollution Control Board in its notification dated 30th January, 2020, has directed all categories of industries located in the State of Assam which requires consent from the Board under the Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1974; Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 and Authorization under the Hazardous and Other Waste Management and Trans-boundary Movement Rules, 2016, to erect a display board outside the factory gate containing information related to effluent discharge, air emissions and waste generated in their factory premises.
Further compliance to this notification is a mandatory requirement for obtaining consent and authorization and the board may take action in case of any violation found in this regard. The format for the notice is prescribed in the notification.
