Assisted Reproductive Technology (Regulations) Amendment Rules, 2023

The Amendment Rules introduce a provision for transfer of gametes and embryos for personal use within or outside India. The Rules state that any person intending to transfer their own gametes and embryos for personal use within or outside India shall apply or furnish declaration in Forms 16 to 24, as may be applicable. Such person shall also obtain the prior permission of the National Board.

DGFT relaxes Procedure for Acceptance of Additional Fee Covering Excess Imports under EPCG Scheme

The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) has granted a one-time relaxation for furnishing additional fee to cover excess imports affected under Export Promotion Capital Goods (EPCG) Scheme. The present notice grants one-time relaxation in submission of additional fee to cover excess duty utilised in EPCG authorisations issued under Foreign Trade Policy (2009-14) (extended upto 31.03.2015).

Ministry of Science & Technology issues press release on Conference on “Geospatial Policy for National Development”

During the conference the experts suggested ways of pushing forward the new Geospatial Policy and harnessing it for national development. The participants from the government sectors and industry players discussed geospatial infrastructure, skill development, transport networks, sustainable water management, agriculture, capacity building, and plans for high-end geospatial research and development at the two-day conference geared to develop a roadmap for successful implementation of the policy.

Draft Agro Residue Utilization by Thermal Power Plants Rules, 2023

The draft rules seek to stipulate that all coal based thermal power plants of power generation utilities shall on annual basis mandatorily use minimum 5 percent blend of pellets / briquettes made of crop residue along with coal. These rules are sought to be made applicable to all the Thermal Power Plants Located in the Area falling in jurisdiction of Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) in NCR and Adjoining Areas constituted under “The Commission for Air Quality Management in National Capital Region and Adjoining Areas Act, 2021”.

SEBI Consultation Paper on Holding of Sponsor in REITs and InvITs

The consultation paper seeks to solicit public comments on the proposal to review norms with respect to Sponsor(s) REITs and InvITs. In this manner, it seeks to ensure alignment of interest between the sponsors and unit holders. These comments/ suggestion shall be submitted latest by 8th March, 2023.
