Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry Gets Official Recognition in Punjab

The Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying has officially recognized a new veterinary qualification from the College of Veterinary Science, Rampura Phul, Bathinda, Punjab. This amendment to the First Schedule of the Indian Veterinary Council Act, 1984, was made in consultation with the Veterinary Council of India (VCI).

The notification dated November 20, 2025, amends serial number 73 of the First Schedule, which relates to the Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana.

New Recognized Qualification

The following new item and entries are inserted into the Schedule:

This qualification is recognized as a valid veterinary qualification effective from the date of the notification’s publication in the Official Gazette. This recognition allows graduates holding the B.V.Sc. and A.H. degree from the College of Veterinary Science, Rampura Phul, to be registered with the VCI and practice veterinary medicine.
