The Department of Chemicals and Petrochemicals has issued an order dated 24th January, 2020 to declare the date of coming into effect of the Acetic Acid (Quality Control) Order, 2019.
The order mandates that Acetic Acid shall conform to the corresponding Indian Standard IS 695 : 1986 and shall bear the Standard Mark under a license obtained from the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) as per Scheme-I of Schedule-II of BIS (Conformity Assessment) Regulations, 2018.
The BIS shall be the authority to certify and enforce conformity to the Standard Mark under this Order. In addition, District Industries Center in the Department of Industries of the State Government shall also be the enforcing authority.
The above-said order shall come into effect from 3rd August 2020.
