National framework for promoting energy storage systems

Government of India has issued a national framework for promoting energy storage systems to support the development and deployment of ESS through policy and regulatory measures, financial and fiscal incentives, and performance-based incentives.

BIS revises Standards for Petroleum Products and Other Products

The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) has revised certain standards for Petroleum Products and Other Products such as dyes. It has also established a new standard; IS 18299 : 2023 Structural Design and Proof Checking Consultancy Services for Structures — Requirements.

A detailed methodology for measurement, reporting, monitoring, onsite verification and certification of green hydrogen and its derivatives is specified by MNRE.

Strategy for Establishment of Offshore Wind Energy Projects

The policy extends its reach up to a distance of 200 nautical miles from the baseline, covering the country’s Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ). The Ministry of New & Renewable Energy (MNRE) has been designated as the Nodal Ministry for overseeing the offshore wind power development, while the National Institute of Wind Energy (NIWE) has been entrusted with the role of the Nodal Agency.

Amendments in Bidding Documents for lnter-State Transmission Services

The Ministry noted that several private transmission developers had encountered challenges in meeting the technical requirements for bidding on HVDC systems via the TBCB route, specifically related to the qualifying criterion regarding the aggregate capital cost of projects and aggregate payments received (CAPEX) to be fulfilled by the bidding company or lead member of the Bidding Consortium.
