CBDT Constituted “Start-up Cell” for grievances redressal

The Central Board of Direct Taxes through its notification dated 30th August 2019 has constituted a special cell for the redressal of grievances and mitigation of various tax-related issues suffered by start-ups. The move comes after the government’s earlier announcement of exempting start-ups registered with DPIIT from the ‘angel tax’.

The start up cell is a five-member board headed by the member (Income Tax and Computerisation) of the board. The Cell will work towards redressal of grievances and mitigate tax-related issues with respect to administration of the Income-tax Act, 1961. Start-up entities can approach the Cell for speedy resolution of their grievances.
