Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate on 11th October, 2023 issued draft provisions of Ecomark Certification Rules, 2023, to provide accreditation and labelling for household and other consumer products which meet certain environmental criteria along with quality requirements of the Indian Standards for that product.
The draft notification provides the framework only for implementation and mechanism for operationalization of the Ecomark. The Central Government has extended the public consultation period for the draft notification till 60 days from the date of publication.
