Cyber Security Awareness Session

As part of the ongoing celebrations of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, the Ministry of Minority Affairs (MoMA) took a significant step towards strengthening its digital resilience by organizing a Cyber Security Awareness Session. The session, held on July 24, 2025, was chaired by Joint Secretary, Shri Shersha C Shaik Mohiddin, and conducted with the support of experts from CERT-In (Indian Computer Emergency Response Team).

In an age where digital operations are deeply woven into the daily functioning of government departments, cyber security has become a top priority. This session was part of MoMA’s proactive efforts to empower its officials with knowledge and best practices related to digital safety, cyber hygiene, and threat preparedness.

A Timely and Relevant Initiative

The Cyber Security Awareness Session focused on educating ministry officials about various types of cyber threats, including phishing attacks, malware, data breaches, and social engineering tactics that continue to target government systems. Through presentations, demonstrations, and interactive Q&A sessions, CERT-In experts highlighted the importance of adopting preventive measures such as secure password practices, multi-factor authentication, regular software updates, and careful handling of emails and digital documents.

Officials were also sensitized to the importance of data privacy, incident reporting protocols, and the role each employee plays in maintaining cyber security across the ministry’s digital infrastructure.
