DCI Announces Deadline for MDS/PG Diploma and BDS Admissions

Reminder for MDS/PG Diploma Admissions

The deadline for uploading information on the MDS and PG Diploma Courses on the DCI website is September 8, 2025, at 12:00 midnight.

This directive follows the revised counseling schedule from the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), which declared September 8 as the final date for students to join MDS courses. The DCI has warned that any admission claimed after this deadline will be considered illegal, and legal action may be taken under the Dentists Act, 1948.

To prevent last-minute technical faults and network pressure, colleges are advised to upload student details gradually after each round of counseling. The DCI has also strictly warned colleges against uploading fraudulent admissions and emphasized that only details uploaded to the official DCI portal will be considered valid for the purpose of forwarding to State Dental Councils for qualification addition.

The council confirmed that no requests for an extension of the deadline or any excuses for technical issues will be entertained.

Revised Deadline for BDS Admissions

The DCI has also announced a revised deadline for dental colleges to upload the details of students admitted to the BDS Course for the academic session 2025-26. The new last date for joining BDS courses has been extended to October 25, 2025, with the academic session commencing on September 22, 2025.

Accordingly, all dental college authorities are now directed to upload the details of their admitted students on the DCI website by October 25, 2025, at 12:00 midnight. The DCI has issued a strong warning that any admissions claimed after this new deadline will be presumed to be illegal, and the concerned college will be subject to legal action under the Dentists Act.

In its circular, the DCI urged colleges to upload student details after each round of counseling to avoid last-minute delays. It also reiterated a strict warning against uploading fraudulent or non-bona fide admissions, stating that the onus of providing accurate information lies with the college.

The DCI has made it clear that only data uploaded on its official portal will be considered valid for a student’s degree registration, and no requests for an extension of the new deadline will be considered.
