DCI urges Dental Colleges to Upload Student Details for Academic Session 2023-2024

The Dental Council of India (DCI) has issued a notice to all dental institutions regarding the admission details of students in MDS (Master of Dental Surgery) and PG Diploma Courses for the academic session 2023-24. This notice was issued on 4th October, 2023.

The notice, addressed to all concerned authorities, emphasizes several key points and deadlines that institutions must adhere to. Here are the key highlights of the notice:

1. Revised Last Date of Joining:

  • The last date of joining for MDS Courses for the academic session 2023-24 is now set as 20th October, 2023, in accordance with the fresh Counseling Schedule published by the Medical Counseling Committee (MCC) on their website.

2. Uploading Student Details on DCI Website:

  • Institutions are requested to upload the details of students admitted in MDS/PG Diploma Courses for the academic session 2023-24 on the DCI Website. This should be done using the new login credentials provided for admissions on or before the last date of joining, i.e., 20th October, 2023, by 12:00 midnight.
  • Institutions are warned that if any admissions are claimed after 12:00 midnight on 20th October, 2023, it will be subject to legal provisions, including Section 10B of the Dentists (Amendment) Act, 1993, and/or Section 16A of the Dentists Act, 1948.

2.1 Gradual Upload of Student Details:

  • To ensure a smooth process and avoid last-minute technical issues, institutions are urged to upload student details gradually. These uploads should be made immediately after the date of joining for each round of counseling, but no later than 12:00 midnight on 20th October, 2023.

2.2 Strict Adherence to Genuine Admissions:

  • Institutions are cautioned to upload the details of only genuine and bonafide admissions. Providing false or incorrect information will result in potential action or penalties imposed by the DCI.

2.3 Exclusive Use of DCI Portal:

  • Only student details uploaded on the DCI portal will be forwarded to State Dental Councils/Tribunals for the addition of MDS Qualification. Any details sent through other means, such as email or hard copy, will not be considered.

3. No Extension of Time:

  • Institutions are informed that there will be no extension of time for uploading student details. Additionally, no excuses or reasons related to technical faults will be entertained.

5. Compliance with Stipulations:

  • Competent authorities are urged to ensure that college authorities comply with all the stipulations mentioned in the notice in their entirety.
