The Directorate General of foreign trade vide its notification dated 16th May 2020 has permitted the export of non-medical and non-surgical masks of all types, including cotton, silk, wool and knitted.
However, the export of all other types of masks falling under ITCHS code will remain prohibited.
DGFT in its earlier order dated 19th March 2020, had banned export of surgical/disposable masks and textile raw material used for making masks in the wake of coronavirus outbreak.
