The Government of Karnataka has taken a significant step towards enhancing road safety in the state by proposing the Karnataka State Road Safety Authority Rules, 2023. The draft of these rules, formulated under the authority of section 39 of the Karnataka State Road Safety Authority Act, 2017 has been published for public review and input on 14th September, 2023.
The draft rules encompass a wide range of measures and guidelines aimed at improving road safety across Karnataka. These measures may include regulations related to traffic management, driver education, vehicle safety standards, and more. The government believes that effective road safety measures are crucial to reducing accidents, injuries, and fatalities on the state’s roadways.
The official notice specifies that the draft rules will be open for review for a period of thirty days from the date of their publication in the Official Gazette, i.e. until 14th October, 2023. During this time frame, individuals and organizations are encouraged to submit their objections or suggestions to the State Government.
Any feedback received within the stipulated period will be thoroughly considered by the State Government.
