The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade has issued an order on Draft Air conditioners and its related parts, Hermetic Compressor & Temperature Sensing Controls (Quality Control) Order, 2019, which shall come into force after 6 months from the date of publication in the official gazette.
There are certain good and articles specified in the order which shall bear the standard mark under the license from the BIS as per scheme one of schedule 2 of the Bureau of Indian Standard (Conformity Assessment) Regulations, 2018. They shall conform to the standards mentioned in the table.
BIS shall be the certifying and enforcement authority. This Order shall not be applicable to goods and articles meant for export.
