The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has published its draft Quality of Service (Code of Practice for Metering and Billing Accuracy) Regulations, 2023. These Draft Regulations were published on 24th February, 2023.
These Regulations shall be applicable to all the service providers having:
- Unified Access Service License
- Unified License with authorization for Access Service
- Unified License for VNO with authorization for Access Service.
The Regulations create a Code of Practice for metering and billing accuracy.
The regulations, amongst other provisions, also provide for the appointment of auditor for audit of metering and billing systems. The regulations set forth the process of audit of metering and billing systems and Licensed Service Areas.
