The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India vide its notification dated 30th December 2020 has decided to further extend the timeline for compliance related to the limits of calcium and magnesium for the standards of packaged drinking water (other than mineral water) up to 1st July 2021.
Based on the representation received from a section of stakeholders requesting to further extend the time for compliance, since the FBOs were not prepared to comply with the provision due to lockdown implemented to check the spread of covid-19 pandemic, therefore after due consideration FSSAI has further extended the time limit till 1st July 2021.
