FSSAI has developed an SOP and checklist for issue of RUCO stickers to Food Business Operators.

The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India in its notification dated 25th February, 2020, has issued a Standard Operating Procedure and checklist for issuance of Re-purpose Used Cooking Oil (RUCO) sticker to Food Business Operators (FBO).

These stickers shall be awarded to FBOs and food establishments by the food safety department after verifying the RUCO compliance and the FBOs shall display the RUCO stickers at prominent place of their food premises/establishment.

FSSAI in its earlier order dated 30th January 2019 had directed FBOs whose consumption of edible oils for frying is more 50 liters per day would maintain the usage records and would dispose of Used Cooking Oil (UCO) to agencies authorized by the FSSAI.
