The Ministry Environment, Forest and Climate Change has granted an extension for filing annual returns under the Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) framework for Used Oil. The returns for the Financial Year (FY) 2024-25, which were originally due by September 30, 2025, now have an extended deadline of December 31, 2025.
The decision, issued via an Office Memorandum, follows a request from the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), which had received numerous requests from stakeholders for more time.
The extension is made in accordance with sub-rule 5 of Rule 30 of the Hazardous and Other Wastes (Management and Transboundary Movement) Amendment Rules, 2024. This allows registered entities under the Used Oil EPR framework (Hazardous and Other Wastes (Management and Transboundary Movement) Second Amendment Rules, 2023) an additional three months to complete their filing obligations for FY 2024-25.
