The Ministry of Finance has notified the creation of the National Bench of the Goods and Services Tax Appellate Tribunal (GSTAT) at New Delhi, with effect from today, 14 March 2019, on the recommendation of the GST Council.
GSTAT will function as a quasi-judicial body that will mediate in indirect tax disputes between States and Centre.
