Government of Kerala modifies the travel guidelines for international passengers.

The Health and Family Welfare department of Kerala on 4th February 2022, has issued revised guidelines for international air passengers arriving in Kerala. As per the new guidelines, all the international passengers, irrespective of their duration of stay in Kerala, need to undergo self- symptom surveillance, if symptomatic she/he shall undertake RTPCR test at cost and take further action as per the test result.

Random testing of two per cent of international travellers by flight irrespective of the country of departure to be done free of cost (state government to bear the cost) and the selection of the passengers is to be done by the airline officers.

Further the samples of all international travellers, who are tested RTPCR positive shall be sent for whole genomic sequencing and the treatment of COVID positive travellers to be done as per the existing guidelines.

COVID testing using rapid antigen test on the 8th day of arrival is advisable for safety of the passengers.
