The Labour and Employment Department of Gujarat in its gazette notification dated 20th July 2020 has notified the Contract Labour (Regulation and Abolition) (Gujarat Amendment) Ordinance, 2020.
In light of the prevailing situation owing to COVID-19 pandemic and in order to boost the economic activity by way of offering an economic revival package in the state, the government has amended the applicability to the act for the establishments employing twenty or more workmen to fifty or more workmen.
