IIT Madras hosts technology-led National CSR Summit

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) hosted the IIT Madras National CSR Summit – “Building India 2047: Technology for a Brighter Future” on its premises today, February 17. The event, as detailed in a press release from the institute, centered around leveraging technology for positive social change. The flagship corporate social responsibility (CSR) Summit brought together stalwarts from corporate India to address prevailing societal challenges and enable collaboration through scalable and sustainable technological solutions towards Viksit Bharat @2047. The summit witnessed active participation from various sectors including industry, Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs), corporate entities, and notable business leaders from all corners of the nation. During the summit, the prestigious IIT Madras CSR Awards (2023) were conferred, with esteemed chief guest Minister for Information Technology and Digital Services, Government of Tamil Nadu, gracing the occasion alongside esteemed faculty, dedicated researchers, and enthusiastic students of the Institute. In a significant milestone, IIT Madras and its affiliated entities secured an unprecedented fundraising achievement, amassing a remarkable sum of 231 crore in funding during the financial year 2022-23. Notably, IIT Madras stands out as a trailblazer in fostering synergistic collaborations between academia and industry, facilitating initiatives such as consultancy, sponsored research, and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) partnerships. The institute’s Office of Institutional Advancement, staffed by seasoned professionals, leads the charge in orchestrating fundraising endeavors, engaging with corporate entities, alumni networks, and philanthropic donors to garner support for the institute’s initiatives.
