The Indian Nursing Council (INC) issued a notification following a resolution by its Executive Committee on 17 October 2025, aimed at addressing the issue of multiple nursing institutional employment. The Council had observed, based on inspection reports and renewal data, that many Nursing Faculty were found to be concurrently working in two Nursing Institutions.
The resolution establishes two key mandates to curb this practice:
1. Issuance of Relieving Orders
Nursing Institutions are required to follow standard professional practice and must issue a relieving order to any Nursing Faculty who leaves the institution immediately without fail.
2. Mandatory Verification during Joining
As a mandate prerequisite in the joining policy, every Nursing Institution shall verify the relieving order of the Nursing Faculty from their previous Nursing Institution and check the credentials before appointing the Nursing Faculty.
