Highlights: EPFO has introduced new facility to file nomination forms by members online through the Unified portal, to make it compatible with online claim to be submitted by the members. The process of entering the family details of the members as nominees and the e-filing of the nomination has been provided.

The Ministry of Labour and Employment on June 6, 2019, has made provision for the introduction of new facility for filing of online e-nomination at Member Interface of United Portal and has also urged to members to urgently file their e-nomination through their employers.
Following are the essential attributes of the new e-nomination facility:
- Universal Account Number or UAN should be activated. UAN is a unique number which is allotted by the Employee Provident Fund Organization to every employer making contribution in Employee Provident Fund.
- Verified Aadhaar should be linked with UAN.
- Mobile number of the member should be linked with Aadhaar.
- Photo of the member should be uploaded in his profile.
- For the purpose of e-nomination Aadhaar of all family members should be available.
- Photo of all family members should be uploaded.
- E-nomination should be digitally signed through Aadhaar based e-sign.
- PDF of digitally signed nomination will be available in the login of the members.
The functionality of e-nomination enables members to file online Pension Claim and in the event and in the demise of the member the nominee will be able to file online claim through OTP generated on his/her Aadhaar linked mobile number.
