Maharashtra PCB extends the validity of Consent to establish and consent to operate till 30th September 2020

The Maharashtra Pollution Control Board vide its circular dated 28th April 2020 has decided to extend the validity period of consent/authorization to establish or operate all industries and establishments, due to the outbreak of COVID-19 across the country.

As per the Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1974, Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 and Hazardous & Other Waste (Management and Transboundary movement) Rule, 2016all  projects/establishments including Building/Construction projects/Area Development projects and Townships projects are required to obtain Consent to operate and authorization from the MPCB.

However, due to the prevailing COVID-19 situation, the MPCB has decided that all industries having Consent/Authorisation validity till 30 April 2020 and have applied before 31 May 2020 for renewal shall operate till 30th September 2020 as an interim measure.
