MCA has brought in an extant rules on possession of Duplicate/Multiple DINs

The Ministry of Corporate Affairs has recently notified that it would be conducting KYC (Know Your Customer) verification for DIN Holders of all companies through a new eForm DIR-3 KYC which was published on 5th July.

Further the Minster Of Corporate Affairs has made an recent update on the following :

“As per the extant rules, in respect of an individual who is in possession of Duplicate/Multiple DINs, he can retain the Oldest DIN only. DINs obtained later have to be surrendered. Further DIN once associated is NOT eligible
for surrender. Stakeholders may kindly take note and plan accordingly”
