The Ministry of Labour and Employment vide its Notification dated 20th February 2020 has published The Employees’ Pension (Amendment) Scheme, 2020. The amendment provides for restoration of normal pension in respect of those members who availed the benefit of commutation of pension.
Under the scheme the members shall be entitled to superannuation pension or early pension under para 12. Through this amendment new para 12b has been inserted which states that “The normal pension in respect of those members who availed the benefit of commutation of pension under the erstwhile paragraph 12A (Which was deleted vide GSR 688(E), dated 26.9.2008) of this Scheme, on or before the 25th day of September, 2008, shall be restored after completion of fifteen years from the date of such commutation.”
