The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways in its letter dated 10th June 2020 has directed the states to issues online permission for movement of single unit over-dimensional/overweight consignments (ODCs/OWCs) on Modular Hydraulic Trailers (HT-1 to HT-13) on National Highways.
The applicant/transporter is required to apply online and duly file details of consignment along with requested route details with all supporting documents. The permission letter will consists of application/uploaded documents details, the mandatory conditions to be followed by the applicant during movement of consignment, permission conditions, route details, list of un-distressed bridges, list of distressed bridges/culverts etc.
Approval for online permission is granted subject to the condition that the vehicle should display all danger flags & lights and preferably the vehicle should be preceded and followed by a vehicle displaying prominently that a heavy load is passing and red flags on both sides should be installed for facilitating demarcation of extreme position of the vehicle during day time.
