MNRE Notifies Process of Vendor Registration for PM-Surya Ghar Scheme

The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) has notified the Process of Vendor Registration for PM-Surya Ghar Scheme. This process is applicable to vendors desiring to get registered on the National Portal. This Office Memorandum (OM) was issued on May 7, 2024.

It may be recalled that the Government of India had approved the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana on February 29, 2024. The scheme was launched on February 13, 2024. The scheme aims to increase rooftop solar power adoption and empower households to generate their own electricity.

The scheme is implemented through a dedicated national portal. The portal facilitates vendor registration. ensuring a streamlined process for consumers seeking installation services.

The MNRE states that several DISCOM consumers (consumers connected to a specific electricity distribution company have been applying to the national portal for rooftop solar installations. These installations can be done only by vendors registered on the national portal.

Hence, the MNRE has published the process for vendor registration on the national portal.
