The drive started on April 11 and till now the officers have inspected 1,500 industrial units of which 150 were found violating fire safety norms and are prosecuted. The inspection drive is undertaken considering the frequent fire incidents on Khairani road in last four months.
It was in December 2017 when the fire broke in Bhanu farsan factory in the locality which killed 12 people. “Since December 2017 three major fire incidents have taken place in the industrial units on Khairani Road and in entire Kurla, Sakinaka area (L ward) 25 minor fires are reported.
Since April 11, we inspected 1,500 units of which 150 are prosecuted and from 90 units we have confiscated all the goods stored.
