The National Medical Commission (NMC) has issued a public notice, building upon its earlier directive from July 23, 2024, to strictly enforce the regular updating of faculty details on the official websites of all medical colleges and health institutions. This public notice was issued on July 10, 2025.
Under the new directives, medical colleges are required to:
- List Faculty by Department:
Comprehensive faculty details must be listed separately under each academic department. This includes the Medical Superintendent, Principal, or Dean if they hold positions within a specific department.
- Adhere to Prescribed Format:
The faculty list must be uploaded in the specific format outlined in Annexure-I.
- Monthly Updates:
The faculty list must be updated by the 5th day of every month for the preceding month.
The NMC has emphasized that any non-disclosure or inaccurate disclosure of faculty details will lead to penal action against the concerned medical institution. These penalties will be in accordance with the following regulations:
- Regulation 30 and 31 of the Establishment of Medical Institutions, Assessment and Rating Regulations, 2023.
- Regulations 9.1 and 9.2 of the Post Graduate Medical Education Regulations, 2023.
- Regulation 8 of the Maintenance of Standards of Medical Education Regulations, 2023.
This stringent measure by the NMC aims to enhance accountability and maintain high standards of transparency within medical education and health institutions across the country.
