Plant Quarantine (Regulation of Import into India) (Third Amendment) Order, 2022

The Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare vide circular dated the 3rd August, 2022 has issued the Plant Quarantine (Regulation of Import into India) (Third Amendment) Order, 2022. The amendment provides that Fresh
fruit for consumption imported from USA (Pacific North West regionIdaho, Oregon, Washington ) shall be free from following moths and bugs:

  1. Chloristoneura rosaceana (Oblique banded leafroller)
  2. Grapholia molesta (Oriental fruit moth)
  3. Grapholia packardi (Cherry fruit worm)
  4. Grapholia prunivora (Plum moth)
  5. Phenacoccus aceris (Apple mealy bug)
  6. Rhagoletis fausta (Black cherry fruit fly)
  7. Rhagoletis indifferens (Western cherry fruit worm)
  8. Rhagoletis pomonella (Apple maggot)
  9. Phytophthora cryptogea (Tomato fruit rot)

Consignments shall comply with Systems Approach as per agreed protocol and shall be procured from production area of Idaho, Oregon and Washington and such procurement details shall be endorsed in Phytosanitary certificate.
