The Central Board of Direct Taxes vide notification dated 29th November 2019, has published the Prohibition of Benami Property Transactions (1st Amendment), Rules, 2019 to further amend the Prohibition of Benami Property Transactions Rules, 2016.
The Amendment is brought under rules 10 which specifies the procedure for filing Appeals to the Appellate Tribunal. Form 3 which prescribes format in which Appeal is filed is altered. The Amendment also prescribe fees of Rs. 2,000 for filing an appeal against penalty order and Rs.10,000 for appeal against order issued by the adjudicating authority.
