The Employees’ Provident Fund Organization, Ministry of Labour and Employment, on 3rd August, 2022 has issued circular to all Employers regarding the SOP to settle claims for death due to industrial accidents. The information with regard to industrial death with full particulars of all deceased persons may be provided to the in-charge of the Regional Industrial Accidents Monitoring Cell (RIAM) so that immediate follow up action to settle their claims can be taken on priority. If immediate information is not provided, it shall be treated as violation under EPF & MP Act, 1952 and other Schemes and shall be liable for action as per law.
The circular lays down certain benefits available to family members of those already enrolled as PF members under the EPF & MP Act, 1952 and other Schemes.
