Specifications Notified for Phospho Gypsum
The Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, through the Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, has notified the mandatory specifications for Phospho Gypsum to be manufactured in India. These specifications are issued in pursuance of Clause 20A of the Fertiliser (Inorganic, Organic or Mixed) Control Order, 1985. The standards are applicable for a period of 3 years from the date of publication of the notification on 3 December 2025.

Cabinet Approves Nutrient Based Subsidy Rates for Rabi 2025-26 Fertilizers
The Union Cabinet has approved the proposal from the Department of Fertilizers to fix the Nutrient Based Subsidy (NBS) rates for the Rabi Season 2025-26. The amendments, which came into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette, expand the list of approved biostimulants, set detailed specifications for their use and revise guidelines for conducting bio-efficacy trials.
Government Pushes Nano DAP Adoption to Cut Import Dependency and Boost Fertilizer Efficiency
The government is actively promoting the use of innovative fertilizers, such as Nano Di-Ammonium Phosphate (DAP), to reduce import dependency and enhance nutrient use efficiency in agriculture. The Department of Fertilizers (DoF), in collaboration with fertilizer companies, has launched a ‘Maha Abhiyan’ to promote the adoption of Nano DAP across all 15 agro-climatic zones of the country. This initiative was announced by the Union Minister of State for Chemicals and Fertilizers in a written reply in the Lok Sabha on August 8, 2025.

This amendment to the Fertiliser (Control) Order, 1985, aims to regulate the quality and composition of fermented organic manure fertilizers, ensuring their effectiveness and safety for agricultural use. Manufacturers are required to clearly label bags and containers with instructions for application, emphasizing application 15-20 days prior to sowing.
