Ministry of New and Renewable Energy Amends Wind ALMM Procedure

The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) has introduced an amendment to the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers – Wind (ALMM-Wind) and the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers – Wind Turbine Components (ALMM-WTC). This amendment, issued via an Office Memorandum dated 1 December 2025, modifies Clause 8.1, which pertains to ‘Performance Efficiency and Safety Issues’.

Proposed New Module Efficiency Thresholds

The Ministry of New & Renewable Energy (MNRE) is seeking comments on a draft order proposing to increase the minimum solar photovoltaic (PV) module efficiency thresholds required for enlistment in the Approved List of Models & Manufacturers (ALMM) List-I. This draft intends to ensure the ALMM list reflects high-quality, commercially available, and high-efficiency modules, thus serving as a barrier against low-efficiency, obsolete technologies.

MNRE Issues Second Revision of ALMM List-II for Solar PV Cells

The Ministry of New & Renewable Energy (MNRE) has issued the Second Revision of the Approved List of Models & Manufacturers (ALMM) List-II for Solar PV Cells, effective November 24, 2025. The ALMM List-II, which pertains specifically to Solar PV Cells, was originally issued on July 31, 2025. This ongoing issuance and revision align with the MNRE’s Office Memorandums (O.M.s) from 2019 and 2024, which outline the ALMM Order and guidelines for implementation and amendment.

MNRE Updates Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM) for Solar PV Modules

The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) has issued an Office Memorandum, dated November 25, 2025, announcing the latest update (Revision-XLIV) to List I (Manufacturers and Models of Solar PV Modules) of the Approved Models and Manufacturers of Solar Photovoltaic Modules (Requirement for Compulsory Registration) Order, 2019 (ALMM Order, 2019). The last update to the list was Revision-XLIII, dated October 13, 2025.
