The National Medical Commission (NMC) has issued a public notice urging all medical colleges and institutions under its administrative domain to actively celebrate World No Tobacco Day (WNTD) on May 31, 2025. To raise awareness about the tobacco epidemic and the preventable deaths and diseases it causes, the World Health Organization (WHO) Member States, through World Health Assembly Resolution, called for the annual observance of World No Tobacco Day on May 31.

NMC Urges Medical Colleges to Urgently Update Annual Renewal Data on Portal

The NMC has explicitly stated that information related to the number of cadavers handled by each medical college and the number of Operation Theatres (OTs) is mandatory for the annual renewal process. To facilitate the submission of this data, the NMC has announced that the NMC Portal will remain open for limited period, from April 25, 2025, to April 28, 2025.
