Chief Minister of Telangana held a crucial meeting with concerned officials to discuss the efficient implementation of three key initiatives: subsidized cooking gas cylinders at Rs. 500 for the underprivileged, construction of INDIRAMMA houses, and the distribution of 200 units of free electricity. The CM emphasized swift action and instructed officials to immediately set up arrangements for two of these initiatives. Inquiring about financial requirements and beneficiary details for each scheme, CM urged the state Finance Department to allocate necessary funds in the budget. A subsequent meeting with the Cabinet sub-committee will precede a final decision before the assembly session. The Praja Palana program, conducted from December 28, 2023, to January 6 statewide, saw an overwhelming response with a total of 1,09,01,255 applications received. The five guarantees offered by the government were sought by eligible individuals during Gram Sabhas and Ward Meetings. Efficient data entry, completed by January 12th, marked a record achievement. However, officials reported challenges, including multiple submissions and incomplete details such as Aadhar and ration card numbers in some applications. CM has advised a thorough re-examination of such applications, emphasizing the possibility of field visits for verification. To ensure no eligible individuals are excluded, officials are encouraged to conduct multiple verifications if necessary. Any errors or mistakes in applications will be rectified in MPDO offices or during the next Praja Palana program. The CM cautioned against unnecessary rules and instructed the development of a mechanism to guarantee every eligible applicant receives scheme benefits. Continuous application processing will be facilitated, providing an opportunity for those who have not applied to do so.
