The Governor of Bihar vide notification dated 21 September, 2020 has promulgated the Bihar Settlement of Taxation Disputes Ordinance, 2020. Ordinance provides for settlement of disputes arising from proceedings under the Bihar Finance Act, 1981. A dispute pending under the law may, on an application being made in this behalf by a party, be settled upon payment of the settlement amount as provided in the ordinance. The application shall be submitted according to the procedure provided under the Bihar Settlement of Taxation Disputes (Second) Rules, 2020.
