The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has suspended the operations of four notified laboratories immediately, prohibiting them from carrying out the analysis of food samples under the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006, and its associated regulations.
The suspension is enforced under Regulation 10(2) read with clause (iii) of Regulation 10(1) of the Food Safety and Standards (Recognition and Notification of Laboratories) Regulations, 2018, and is effective for a period of six months.

Appeal Provision
Any laboratory aggrieved by this suspension order has the right to appeal. The appeal must be filed within a period of 30 days from the date of the issuance of this order, in accordance with the provisions outlined under Regulation 11(1) of the 2018 Recognition and Notification of Laboratories Regulations.
This action ensures that only compliant and reliable laboratories continue to carry out crucial food safety testing across the country.
