The Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying has issued a notification amending the Schedule of the Livestock Importation Act, 1898, to designate three new locations—one international airport and two Inland Container Depots (ICDs)—as authorized entry points for specific livestock products.
The amendment, effective November 24, 2025, facilitates the import of livestock products under prescribed conditions.
New Authorized Import Points
The notification inserts two new provisos into paragraph (4) of the Schedule:
Navi Mumbai International Airport (Maharashtra)
Livestock products listed at serial numbers (i) to (xxxi) of paragraph 1 of the Schedule will be allowed to be imported through the Navi Mumbai International Airport. Import operations at this new airport will be overseen by the Regional Officer or Quarantine Officer stationed at Mumbai.
Jodhpur and Sanand ICDs
Livestock products listed at serial numbers (xxv) and (xxx) of paragraph 1 of the Schedule will be allowed to be imported through the sea port or land port, as applicable, located at Jodhpur ICD (Rajasthan) and Sanand ICD (Gujarat). The jurisdiction for imports at these two ICDs will fall under the respective Animal Quarantine and Certification Stations in New Delhi and Mumbai.
These changes expand the list of authorized points of entry, streamlining the logistics and quarantine processing of livestock products across western and northern India.
