The Ministry of Labour and Employment, vide a Notification released on 15th February, 2019, has made amendments to Section 51 of The Employee’s State Insurance (Central) Rules 1950. Section 51 of The Employee’s State Insurance (Central) Rules 1950, deals in the Rate of Contribution by Employer and Employee.
As per the Amendment, the contribution of the Employer has been reduced to 4 percent of the wages payable to an employee, from 4¾ percent and the contribution on Employee’s part has been reduced to 1 percent of the wages payable to an employee from 1 ¾ percent.
