Anna Medal for Gallantry Award for the year 2024.

The Government of Tamil Nadu instituted the ‘Anna Medal for Gallantry’ for Civilians/Government Servants for their remarkable acts of gallantry in saving life, property. The medal would be presented to the awardee by the Chief Minister during the Republic Day Celebrations on 26th January 2024. The Press release from Tamil Nadu government came out on the date of 08.11.2023.

Eligibility for receiving this award are applicants belonging to Tamil Nadu alone are eligible for getting this award. Anna Medals for Gallantry awarded in a year shall be on an average of six medals, with three medals for general public and three for Government servants (Including Uniformed Services). There is no age limit for receipt of the medal. This award consists of a cheque for Rs.1,00,000, a medal and a citation. The applications/recommendations for the Anna Gallantry Awards will be received only on the online portal https://awards.tn.gov.in designed for this purpose. The applications / recommendations should contain all relevant details specified in the format available on the portal, including a citation in narrative form (maximum 800 words), clearly bringing out the conspicuous act of gallantry of the person.

The last date for sending applications / recommendations for the Anna Gallantry Awards is 15th December, 2023. The applications /recommendations received through online mode only will be considered. The applications which are not received within the prescribed time will be rejected. The awardees will be selected by the selection committee constituted by the Government.
