The Government of Bihar, through its Department of Prohibition, Excise & Registration, has issued a notification , granting 100% exemption in registration fees for new industrial units classified under high-priority sectors.
This move falls under the provisions of the Bihar Industrial Investment Promotion Policy (BIIPP), 2016, and is aligned with other state policies such as the Ethanol Production Promotion Policy, 2021 and the Oxygen Production Promotion Policy, 2021.
🔑 Key Provisions:
100% Registration Fee Exemption is granted for:
- Land allotted to IDA/BIADA for industrial use.
- Lease, purchase, or transfer of industrial land or plots outside IDA for private investors.
Eligibility Conditions:
- Units must have Stage-1 clearance from the State Investment Promotion Board.
- Exemption applies only to new units and only on the first transaction.
- The exemption must be certified and authorized by the Department of Industries.
Other Fees Still Payable:
- LLR, Process Fees, Copying Fees, and Computerized Registration Service Charges are not exempted.
Conditional Recovery Clause:
- If an investor fails to comply with industrial policy guidelines after availing the exemption, the amount may be recovered by the Industries Department.
Effective Period:
- This exemption is valid from 01.04.2025 and will remain in force until a new Industrial Investment Promotion Policy is notified.
