The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has extended the validity of motor vehicle related documents from June 30, 2020 to September 30, 2020.

IRDAI has decided to withdraw long-term third party insurance of 3 years for four wheelers and 5 years for two-wheelers with effect from August 1, 2020.

Government of Bihar extends the validity of late fee to renew the fitness certificate till 30th September
The Transport Department, Government of Bihar has extended the validity of late fee to renew fitness certificate till 30th September. Only those vehicles would avail its benefit which would be Fitness Fee defaulter till the date of publication of this notification in the Bihar Gazette.

Automakers will have to declare emission details and noise standards
The new ROAD-WORTHINESS CERTIFICATE will include the brand, chassis number, engine number (motor number, in case of battery-operated or electric vehicles) and emission norms of the vehicle and will specify the levels of each pollutant like carbon monoxide, hydrocarbon, non-methane HC, NOx, HC + NOx, PM etc. for petrol and diesel vehicles. It will also mention the sound level for horn and pass-by noise values.
Ministry of Home Affairs bars travel by overseas citizens of India
The Ministry of Home Affairs in its press release dated 5th May 2020 has issued an order specifying that all existing visas granted to foreigners including multiple entry-life long visas given to overseas citizens of India cardholders shall be suspended until the ban on international air travel to and from India is lifted.
DGFT issues clarification on submission of pre-shipment inspection certificate
DGFT has decided that a scanned copy of the PSIC document may be accepted in place of a physical copy for the purpose of Customs clearance. However, the importer has to provide an undertaking to the concerned Custom Authority at the time of the clearance. The original physical copy of the PSIC needs to be submitted to Customs within 60 days of the clearance.
