The Government of Goa notifies the Goa Motor Vehicles (Amendment) Rules, 2020
This Amendment stipulates that as far as the procedure for transfer of permit is concerned, the concerned authorities will be Regional Transport Authority or State Transport Authority. Prior to this Amendment, the Rules only contemplated the Regional Transport Authority as the prescribed authority for the purpose of transfer of permits.
The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas simplifies authorization for bulk and retail marketing of petrol and diesel
The Ministry by a resolution has simplified the guidelines for grant of authorization for bulk and retail marketing of Motor Spirit (Petrol) and High-Speed Diesel (Diesel). These Guidelines seek to increase private sector participation including foreign players, in the marketing of Motor Spirit (MS) and High-Speed Diesel (HSD).
Grace period for payment of motor vehicle tax in Andhra Pradesh extended till 30th September
The State Government of Andhra Pradesh on 1st August 2020 has extended the due date for payment of motor vehicle advance tax for the quarter ending 30th June 2020 and 30th September 2020, shall be paid on or before 30th September 2020.

The Authorized dealer can now deliver the cargo declaration in Form-VIA or Form-VIB and Form-VIIA or Form-VIIB or arrival and departure manifest in Form-VIII or Form-VIIIA, from 15th May, 2020 till 30th September, 2020.

Ministry of Shipping waives waterways usage charges to promote Inland water transport

The Bihar Transport Department vide its notification dated 30th June 2020 has provides a 40% tax rebate and exempts penalty charges on payment of quarterly taxes applicable for the period 21st March 2020 to – 30th June 2020 for commercial passenger and goods vehicles registered in the State of Bihar.
Punjab Transport Department directs the owners of transport vehicles to pay the arrears within one month
The owner of transport vehicles in Punjab having taxes in arrears can pay the arrears of taxes within a month from June 1, 2020 to June 30, 2020 and no penalty or interest shall be charged.
Ministry of Road Transport grants online permission for single unit over dimensional consignment
The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways in its letter dated 10th June 2020 has directed the states to issues online permission for movement of single unit over-dimensional/overweight consignments (ODCs/OWCs) on Modular Hydraulic Trailers (HT-1 to HT-13) on National Highways.
